Biography
Bat For Lashes is a pseudonym used by the English indie-rock music Natasha Khan who was born to a family notable for their squash dynasty. She used to travel a lot when a child and spent much time in Pakistan. Natasha was raised in accordance with strict religious rules, which had a great impact on the formation of her personality. When she was eleven her father left the family. At that time the girl went into music and made it a great part of her life. In particular, she played piano to accompany her prayers for the father’s return. When a teenager, Natasha grew fond of fine arts and entered a school of cinematography and music. Besides, the girl received the certificate of a nursery school teacher. Aged twenty, Natasha Khan visited San Francisco. This trip produced an immense impression upon her. Upon the return home, the girl made up her mind to start a solo career. By that time, she had amassed a great deal of ideas to be later materialized in the frames of the Bat For Lashes project.
