Robin’s parents are people of art, and that is why it is not a big surprise that their son once had decided to follow his parents’ steps. The performer’s father, a famous actor and musician Alan Thicke promoted Robin a love to Bruce Springsteen’s compositions, while Robin’s mother, an actress Gloria Loring, introduced to her son the creativity of Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. This way the young Thicke fell in love with music, and pretty soon he started trying his own strength in the field of songwriting.

Jane's Addiction biography

American band Jane’s Addiction, which became one of the brightest representatives of alternative rock, was organized in early eighties. They realised they had a lot in common (especially concerning music tastes), and soon after the show they formed the band Mastodon. Later in their interviews the band members would often recall how difficult it was to start rehearsing, because everyone would show up completely wasted. Nevertheless, alcohol was never a burden, and by the year 2000 Mastodon’s four-song demo, recorded at Reptilian Records, was ready to see the light. Their efforts were highly appraised by Relapse Records that offered Mastodon a record deal in 2001. Later that year, the guys released a five-track EP, Lifesblood, drawing large attention to the band. The mass reception got even more positive when Mastodon’s first full-length album Remission hit the shelves in 2002. It proposed a fine blend of mathematics, arrangements and attitude, complex enough to attract the fans of the genre.

Justice biography

The French duo Justice is very well known to lovers of high quality electronic music all over the world. The band was formed back in 2003 and it found its popularity and acknowledgment pretty soon, because Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay proved to everyone that they could both make awesome remixes and also create their own excellent music. The musicians’ career started with the remix contest, where the duo presented their version of Simian's composition Never Be Alone. Justice managed to impress listeners; however the band did not win the contest. But in this very case the participation proved to be much more important then the victory itself – the duo was noticed by the owner of label Ed Banger Records Pedro Winter, also known to music lovers as Busy P (actually he was the first manager of the legendary group Daft Punk).

Chris Isaak biography

American musician and actor Chris Isaak was born in Californian town called Stockton in 1956. The parents of the future singer have always loved music, especially country and rock’n’roll, that is why they had a real collection of the most significant performers’ records. Well, that is not a surprise that Chris inherited that passion to the music. He was dramatically influenced by the king of rock’n’roll Elvis Presley’s compositions. Actually later Isaac was quite often compared with him and Chris was often called the “modern Elvis”. And there were definitely good reasons for that: amazing vocals, charisma and outstanding appearance of the singer played their role. Of course, Chris Isaac did not become the second Elvis, but what is more important – he became one of the brightest and the most recognizable artists of eighties and nineties of the last century.

James Morrison biography

James Morrison, the winner of BRIT Award 2007, was born in 1984 in the town Rugby, which is located on the River Avon. Patti Smith was not well understood in school, that is why she found her redemption in music and poetry. Arthur Rimbaud’s creations and compositions of such legendary rockers as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and others had a truly huge impact on the future performer. She moved with her family a lot from one city to another, from one state to another: Illinois was changed by Pennsylvania, then was New Jersey and after that - New York. Patti moved to the latter by herself – she entered the college, but she had to quit studying because of the unintended pregnancy. Smith got the job at the factory; there she earned enough money to afford moving to New York and starting a new life.
