Rock

Rock is a music genre that evovled from blues in late 1940s in USA. It is based on the usage of electric guitars with the accompaniment of keyboard instruments and drums. Rock music is characterised with prominent vocal melody and a strong back beat. Lyrics in rock can tell about everything from social themes to personal feelings.

Rock music is usually played by rock band, which consists of singer, bass guitarist, lead guitarist, drummer and sometimes keyboardist. Some musicians can play and sing at once, while some bands include additional musicians.

Since 1950s, rock has spawned a numerous number of genres and subgenres, remaining relevant until now.
