World music, sometimes also called folk music and ethno music, is an umbrella term that covers traditional music of any culture. At the same time, world music doesn't include White Americans and Afro Americans music, as long as Jamaican music. The term "world music" itself appeared not long ago to replace expression "folk music".
World music may represent any region on the Earth. It ranges from Latin music to Celtic songs and French chanson. It may include old compositions as well as songs written by modern musicians – the main thing is that they write music according to specific traditions.
