Hot Chip
Biography
The Hot Chip band was formed by long-time friends Alexis Taylor (vocals, keyboards, percussions, piano and guitar) and Joe Goddard (vocals, synthesizer, percussions) in 2000, in the British capital. Later they were joined by the latter participants - Owen Clarke (guitar, synthesizer), Felix Martin (drum machine) and Al Doyle (guitar, synthesizer, percussions). Al Doyle is a member of LCD Soundsystem at the same time. LCD Soundsystem is a musical project of James Murphy, co-founder of the DFA Records, where Hot Chip recorded their album The Warning. In 2000 the band announced their presence on the scene with the EP entitled Mexico. The disc caught the public's attention with the mesmerizing beats and an amusing work of both vocalists. The second EP was called Sanfrandisco E-Pee and managed to be less dark and more danceable than the previous work Mexico.
