About 120 Metallica fans were arrested at the band’s concert in Chilie on January 27. Famous metal-performers were set to play at the Club Hipico horse-racing grounds in Santiago for about 50,000 people. However, just before the gig has begun, ticketless fans tried to break venue’s gates and rush in.
Police had to use water sprays to hold the crowd back. According to the official reports, one officer was injured and about 120 people arrested. They will face charges in disorderly conduct, drug possession and drinking in public.
Concert went on despite disorder outside. Metallica did not release any official statement concerning this accident.
The band is currently on a world tour in support of the Death Magnetic album, which was released in September 2008.
