Anthrax guitarist recorded solo album

Anthrax guitarist recorded solo albumDan Spitz – guitarist of American metal band Anthrax – revealed that he has finished the work on his solo album. Titled Deuxmonkey, it is set to hit the stores early next year. Spitz described its sound like the mix of the music by Soundgarden, Disturbed and Rage Against The Machine.

One of the songs for the album was recorded together with former Metallica guitarist and Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. According to his words, the collaboration was improvised.

"I was in the studio with Dan Spitz from Anthrax. He was working on a little side-project I'd heard a while ago and I asked him: "Do you think it's done?" He asked me why and I said: "Well, I would kind of do this and that". So I rolled up my sleeves and completely dedicated myself to Danny's record", claimed Dave Mustaine.

Earlier Anthrax revealed that they have nearly finished new studio album – the first one in seven years. It features vocals by former singer Joey Belladonna, who has not performed with Anthrax since 1990.

Titled Worship Music, the album is set to hit the stores early next year and become Anthrax's ninth studio effort. Their last to date album We've Come For You All was released in 2003.
