Arcade Fire laughed at the England football team at their concert in London that took place yesterday, on July 7. During the show the band's frontman Win Butler claimed he "still think England's got a real great shot in the World Cup", hinting at the team's early loss at FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
After crowd has begun booing, he quickly added: "I'm just practicing my banter for Reading And Leeds festival".
This gig became first Arcade Fire show in Great Britain in three years. The band performed old hits, as well as several songs from its new album The Suburbs, including tracks Ready To Start, Month Of May and Used To Wait.
According to Arcade Fire, the work on The Suburbs continued during past two years in Montreal and New York. The record was produced by Markus Dravs, who worked on the band's previous album Neon Bible.
Arcade Fire said that the album itself would be "more upbeat" than their previous works, although it would be based on the band's "usual heavy-orchestral string arrangements".
