No Doubt have taken a legal action against the creators of Band Hero videogame in November. The band wants Activision to completely remove their characters from the game saying that manufacturers have violated the terms of their agreement.

No Doubt signed a deal with Activision letting them to use their images in the game. However, they were dissatisfied that players can perform all Band Hero’s songs using their characters, which makes Gwen Stefani sing in a male words on such songs as I Heard It Through The Grapevine by Marvin Gaye or Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones.

Now Activision claims that No Doubt knew their characters will be used this way, and is seeking costs and damages.

Courtney Love and Nirvana members also complained that Band Hero allows players to use Kurt Cobain's character while performing other artist’s songs. However, they did not fill lawsuit against Activision.
