Former Red Hot Chili Peppers member John Frusciante is considered to be the best guitarist of the last 30 years, according to the research held in Britain by BBC. Musician, who left the band in 2008, went ahead of Guns N' Roses’ and Velvet Revolver’s star Slash, in his turn followed by Muse leader Matt Bellamy.
BBC 6 Music presenter Steve Lamacq claimed that about 30,000 music fans took part in the research. «With the renewed interest in these guitarists, thanks to various computer games, this is a very timely and revealing litmus test of who our audience really admire», said he.
The fourth place was won by The Smiths’, Modest Mouse’s and The Cribs' member Johnny Marr, who already claimed he was «glad to be in such great company».
