Chris Blackwell was honored as «most influential person in music in the last 50 years» at the recent Music Week awards ceremony in London. The founder of Island Records label is known as the man who discovered Bob Marley, as well as the producer of Roxy Music and Nick Drake. Blackwell was also among the people who helped U2 to achieve their worldwide success.
He was chosen from a list of 20 members of music industry, such as The Beatles' producer George Martin, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, Richard Branson and legendary producer Mickie Most, who have worked with acts such as The Animals, Herman's Hermits and Jeff Beck.
During the ceremony, Duffy’s manager Jeanette Lee was honored with Manager Of The Year award.
