Slash has confirmed the reports that his band Velvet Revolver had worked together with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. At the same time, he said that this collaboration has resulted into nothing, because Corey "just wasn't right" for them.
"We did work with Corey, but all we were doing was trying him out. Our process is that we take a lot of music we wrote and give it to the guy we're auditioning, he writes his lyrics, we perform it, record it and see what it's like", said Slash.
"So he did come in and do all that, but it just wasn't right. It didn't seem to fit to me. It didn't seem like the answer to the Velvet Revolver problem", added he.
Velvet Revolver original singer Scott Weiland has recorded two albums with the band – Contraband (2004) and Libertad (2007). He left in 2008 to reunite with Stone Temple Pilots.
