Damon Albarn denied rumors about Gorillaz "split-up"Damon Albarn has released an official statement to deny the rumors that he may stop his work with Gorillaz. Earlier the creator of the cartoon band claimed that its recent tour may also be its last one. Later several British newspapers reported that he has decided to leave Gorillaz to work on other projects.

However, ex-Blur frontman himself said it was not true. "Nobody was talking about split-up. In fact, nothing is decided yet, but I am pretty sure it is not the end for them. We may stop touring, but not working. Once again, I am sure I have not said anything about leaving Gorillaz", claimed he.

Gorillaz are currently on a world tour in support of their last album Plastic Beach. It is set to end in January, and, according to Damon Albarn, it is the time when he will make a decision about future performances.

"It's been an unqualified success - bizarrely. We always think that when we get to a point where we've achieved something that it's time to stop. This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz, at the end of this tour, I think", said he.

Gorillaz performed a concert in Damascus on July 25, becoming first ever British group to play in Syria. The gig featured several guest artists who took part in the recording of Plastic Beach – former The Clash members Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, Bobby Womack, American hip hop group De La Soul and others.
