Dr. Dre's upcoming album Detox was described as "something epic" by rapper's friend and Interscope labelmate Lloyd Banks. Banks revealed that he had an opportunity to listen for long-awaited record, and, according to his words, he was very impressed.
"It's history, it's classic, it's something epic. It's like L.A. stand up, it's like West Coast", claimed Banks.
Detox was originally set to be released in 2004, but has been delayed several times. Rapper usually explains the delays by his work on the albums of other artists – for example, he did not release Detox in 2009 because he was busy producing Eminem's album Relapse.
Earlier this month, one track from Detox titled Turn Me On leaked online. In June another new song by Dr. Dre – collaboration with Jay-Z named Under Pressure – also appeared in the Web.
Detox will become Dr.Dre's third and, according to the rapper, last studio album. His previous record, named 2001, hit the stores in 1999.
