Gorillaz confirmed earlier reports that their headline performance at the upcoming Glastonbury festival will feature Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg and a number of other singers. According to Blur’s Damon Albarn, each and every musician who collaborated with the band on their last album Plastic Beach will join Gorillaz onstage.
«Lou Reed’s arriving and, fingers crossed, coming straight to rehearsal. This morning I woke up and the first thing I felt a wave of anxiety about - is an audience that size going to respond to our songs? I don't know», said Albarn.
Lou Reed contributed vocals for the tracks Plastic Beach and Some Kind Of Nature, while Snoop Dogg collaborated with Gorillaz on the track Welcome To The World Of The Plastic Beach.
The band’s performance is also set to feature The Fall’s Mark E Smith and Mos Def.
Gorillaz were set up for Glastonbury after U2 had to cancel their performance due to injury of the band’s frontman Bono.
