Green Day released the first single from their new album 21st Century Breakdown. The track, titled Know Your Enemy, is available both digitally and on CD’s. Green Day also premiered 90-second music video of Know Your Enemy, with full-length video scheduled to be released online on April 24.
21st Century Breakdown is a concept record would tell the story of a young couple called Christian and Gloria. The album will feature such songs as East Jesus Nowhere, 21 Guns and Restless Heart Syndrome.
21st Century Breakdown itself will hit the stores in May. It was produced by Butch Vig, who previously worked with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.
Green Day said that new record would be influenced by such bands as The Creation, The Who, The Beatles, Cheap Trick and The Jam.
The band’s last studio album American Idiot was released in 2004. In 2007 they recorded disk Stop Drop And Roll!!! under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs.
