Gibson Guitar company donated several guitars for a charity online auction in support of War Child organization. All of these guitars were signed by famous musicians, including Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, Duffy, Motorhead’s Lemmy, My Bloody Valentine and others.
All proceeds from the guitars’ sales will be donated to help children in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
War Child is non-governmental organization that focuses on providing assistance to children in areas of conflict and post-conflict.
Next week, Heroes – charity album devoted to the War Child – will be released. The concept of the album is to have music legends select their favorite tracks and name modern artist to cover it. Upcoming record features Blondie’s Call Me performed by Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip playing Joy Division’s Transmission, Bob Dylan’s track Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat covered by Beck and other tracks.
