The Who revealed that they have invited former Oasis’ frontman Liam Gallagher to join the band. They wanted Gallagher to perform with them at the upcoming charity gig in support of Teenage Cancer Trust fund. However, Gallagher had to decline the offer.
The band’s frontman Roger Daltry said: «I actually rung Liam to be part of The Who night, but he's otherwise engaged».
«We've actually got room for two guests, and anyone who wants to turn up and do something, just to round off the night, you know - let's see what happens», added Daltry.
The Who already announced plans to perform the full tracklist of their classic album Quadrophenia at this show.
The event itself is set to take place on March 30. It will be the final show in a series of gigs launched to support Teenage Cancer Trust fund. The Who will be preceded by Depeche Mode, Them Crooked Vultures, Suede, Arctic Monkeys, JLS and Noel Gallagher, Liam’s brother and former Oasis bandmate.
