Lil Wayne, Brian Wilson, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and Celine Dion are among the artists who performed a new version of famous song We Are The World. The track will be released as a charity single to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
All in all, 75 artists took part in the recording of the track, including Barbra Streisand, Carlos Santana, Usher, Miley Cyrus, Tony Bennett and Enrique Iglesias.
Written by Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson, song We Are The World was released in 1985 to raise money for starving people in Africa. Original version features such artists as Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson himself and others.
At the same time, another Haiti charity single – new version of REM’s Everybody Hurts – hit the stores yesterday, on February 2. Produced by Simon Cowell, it features Take That, Robbie Williams, Susan Boyle, Cheryl Cole, Alexandra Burke and others.
