Metallica compared their new record to Black AlbumMetallica guitarist Kirk Hammett spoke about the band's work on its next studio effort. Musician said that it is similar to their 1991's self-titled record – also known as Black Album – but at the same time it will be heavier and more "groove-oriented''.

"If Death Magnetic was a logical successor to …And Justice For All, the next album will be a heavier Black Album. We're not going to the depths of complexity that we did for Death Magnetic. The stuff we're coming up with is more groove-oriented, a heavier version of what we were doing in the early 90s", claimed he.

Recently Metallica have posted two new songs online, titled Hate Train and Just A Bullet Away. Both tracks were recorded during the work on the band's last to date album Death Magnetic, but were not included in final tracklisting.

The tracks are set to be featured on upcoming album Beyond Magnetic that features previously unreleased Metallica songs from different times.
