Randy Phillips, promoter who worked on Michael Jackson's series of gigs in London, claimed that a tribute show for the singer will take place in near future. According to Phillips, it is only a matter of time because «you can not arrange such huge event at once». However, the gig will probably take place on August 29, the date of Michael Jackson’s birthday.
«The number one item I’m discussing is presenting the production, hopefully with the Jackson's and maybe Janet, and other artists. We have to make some hard decisions this week otherwise it will be too late to even contemplate doing anything on August 29», said Phillips.
He added: «What we're thinking about is one massive tribute that's broadcast around the globe. We've opted to go to broadcast television, either cable/satellite, or traditional broadcast».
Michael Jackson’s public memorial service was broadcasted all over the world. It featured performances by Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson and Usher, who sang Jackson's songs.
