Portishead will start working on their fourth album soonPortishead guitarist Adrian Utley revealed that the band would start working on its fourth studio effort soon. He claimed that they were not going to "put too many rules" on it, but at the same time stated that the work may take a long time.

"We're just finishing up some projects we've each got and then we'll look to start writing, a little bit separately and then together but it is pretty exciting. I think we're just gearing up to it, staring at each other a bit and getting ready to go. Don’t think any of us want to really hex it by putting too many rules on it, which we often do", claimed he.

Adrian Utley added that Portishead may perform several previously unheard songs during their tours, but it won't be the tracks from upcoming effort.

Earlier Portishead's Geoff Barrow expressed hope that upcoming record would get better reception in Great Britain than Portishead's previous album Third. "We did the Third record, it did incredibly well. We got very little support from the UK as we don't represent a certain demographic of people, but we did Coachella festival and that was amazing", said he.

Upcoming record will become Portishead's fourth studio album. Dummy and Portishead were released before the band's split up in 1999, while Third hit the stores after Portishead's reunion in April 2008.
