Robbie Williams and Russell Brand to record anthem for English football teamRobbie Williams and Russell Brand were named among the artists involved in the recording of the cover on Three Lions song – famous anthem of English football team. Former Take That member and famous comedian are not the only men set to take part in the project. More names shall be announced later.

According to the reports by British press, Robbie Williams has already recorded vocals for the cover, while Russell Brand will enter the studio this month.

Originally, Three Lions was written and recorded by The Lightning Seeds, and released as an official song for English football team at the 1996’s European Football Championship.

Later it became a tradition to reissue the song each time English national team is taking part in major football tournament. The music video for 1998’s version featured Robbie Williams, as well as Spice Girls.
