Former Guns N' Roses member Slash and Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am have recorded remix on The Who's track My Generation. It will be released later as a charity single, with all proceeds donated to people of Haiti.
Will.I.Am claimed that it was his idea to record this track: «It's The Who, their song, and then I altered the lyric to fit my generation now and then have Slash on it. It was awesome. I loved that song way before this even came up».
According to Slash, song will become available after The Who's upcoming performance at Super Bowl on February 7.
Earlier this month, producer Simon Cowell announced plans to record cover on REM’s song Everybody Hurts to raise money for Haiti. The list of artists who contributed their vocals for the track features Take That, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, JLS, Alexandra Burke, James Blunt and Joe McElderry.
It was also announced that U2, Jay-Z and producer Swizz Beatz have recorded a song to benefit the Haiti people.
