The Flaming Lips recorded a six hours long trackThe Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne revealed that the band has recorded a song that lasts for six hours. Titled I Found This Star On The Ground, it is set to be released later this autumn. All money raised with its help will be donated to charity organizations.

Wayne Coyne added that I Found This Star On The Ground sounds like "The Velvet Underground meets Super Mario Brothers".

"The best way that we can describe the sound of it is, it's like the The Velvet Underground meets Super Mario Brothers. Its kind of just "do do do do do la ta da ta da". It's not real intense, and it's not going anywhere", claimed he.

Coyne added: "This song is being released in conjunction with this weird little strobe light toy that we're putting out. Part of my reasoning for I Found This Star On The Ground is that I wanted there to be some type of music that you could play while you played with this toy".

Last album by The Flaming Lips, which has got the long title White Dwarfs With Henry Rollins And Peaches Doing The Dark Side Of The Moon, was released in 2009.
