The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas revealed that the band has met in studio in New York to start working on the new album. Musicians has already recorded three new songs, which, according to Casablancas, have «70s vibe, like Thin Lizzy or Elvis Costello».
«But then some of it is bizarre music from the future that we're trying to tone down to sound catchy. So we're trapped between the future and the '70s», said he, adding that each band member had become more «open and honest» in the studio than during the work on the previous albums.
The Strokes also claimed that the new record would not be released until 2010.
The Strokes' previous record, First Impressions Of Earth, was released in 2006.
