The Strokes will release new album in SeptemberThe Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas revealed that the band was going to release its fourth studio album in September. He also claimed that new record would be different from The Strokes' previous albums.

«I’ve written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums», claimed Casablancas.

Earlier Casablancas already said that he would like to record «more weird» music. «It's definitely a place I would like to go, musically. My solo record Phrazes For The Young was kind of something I needed to get out of my system», said he.

He also said that The Strokes’ new record would sound like «Thin Lizzy meets A-Ha».

According to Casablancas, this summer the band will headline famous Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, as well as Isle of Wight festival and Rockness festivals in UK.

The Strokes previous album First Impressions Of Earth hit the stores in 2006.
