The list of the most successful North American tours of 2009 was revealed. The first place was given to U2 and their 360 Tour. All in all famous rock-band performed for about 1,3 million fans, earning $123 million.
U2 are followed by Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band, who earned $94.5 million. Joint tour by Elton John and Billy Joel grossed $88 million. Top-5 also features Britney Spears ($82.5 million) and AC/DC ($77.9 million).
360 Tour appeared to be fifth most successful tour ever. The band performed in support of its last album No Line On The Horizon, which hit the stores in February 2009.
The band’s next studio effort Songs Of Ascent is set to be released in 2010. U2 also announced the release of the new album titled Artificial Horizon – it will be a compilation of remixes on the band’s songs by other artists. Among other tracks, Artificial Horizon will feature a remix on Vertigo by Nine Inch Nails’ frontman Trent Reznor.
