Robin Thicke moves forward

US-based R&B singer Robin Thicke has been long known to the public ultimately as the producer and song-writer. However, when he decided to start a singing career the listeners realized that a big artist lived in the shadows for a long time. The fame caught Thicke not in a minute, but at the same time, his listeners stay devoted to him even between the releases. When he married his school love, Thicke managed to stay an ideal family man and at the same time shake it off when needed. Although Robin is always compared to Justin Timberlake, their romantic music definitely differs. Well, the similarity between the artists finishes at the facts that both sing about sex and love and both are young handsome men with the heart-breaking falsetto. Unlike heart-eater Timberlake, Thicke is devoted to one and the same woman for years, and in May 2010 she is going to give life to their first son. Inspired by his future and long-awaited parental duties, he recorded a new disc Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition), which includes twelve standard R&B tracks and five bonus compositions about women, sex and pleasant ways of spending your time. As before, Thicke surrounded himself with a warm company of guest stars, while the disc itself was issued in the Star Trak studio, the department of a major label Interscope.

The disc for people, young in the bottom of their hearts

The album Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition) is definitely created both for the long-time fans of Robin Thicke and young appreciators of the blue-eyed R&B. Starting with the intriguing interlude 911, in which Thicke states that his music got more identity and recognizable features, the album totally wins your attention from the very beginning to the end. The track Mrs. Sexy is an elegant dedication of the artist to his wife and makes it clear that even a married woman can be the object of great sexual interest. The title composition Sex Therapy introduces us to the conception of the new creation by Thicke, and it gives you an opportunity to enjoy Thicke’s emotionally rich and breath-keeping vocals. Such wonderful songs as Meiple (Feat. Jay-Z) and It's In The Mornin (Feat. Snoop Dogg) deserve some ultimate attention and they are noticeable with the guest artists. The track Shakin' It 4 Daddy (Feat. Nicki Minaj) can serve as an example of Thicke’s unsuccessful lyrics, but we will forgive him this little drawback for the first-rate tunes Rollacoasta (Feat. Estelle), Million Dolla Baby (Feat. Jazmine Sullivan) and the album closing Diamonds (Feat. Game), which features the rap inclusion by The Game. However, the artist is impressing on his own too. For examplr, his song Make U Love Me is a vulnerable and winding result of Robin’s experiments with the synthesized pop sound of The Neptunes.

Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition) – the golden middle

First of all, it is necessary to stress that Thicke has finally found his balance between the absolute absence of samples and their overuse. The disc Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition) features several compositions with the samples, but all of them sound moderate and stylish, we do not experience the overdose of repetitions. He also managed no to misuse the rapping experiments and guest appearances this time. The disc became interesting in the result both due to Thicke's solo tracks and duets with young female singers and celebrity rappers. Thewise sucessetion of the compositions make the listeners feel excitement and curiosity about the following song to the very end of the disc. It all happens in spite of the fact that Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition) has more than a dosen of tracks. The artist was assisted in the working process by such pupolar producers as Dre & Vidal, Polow da Don. Nevertheless, Thicke decided to control the labor himself and self-produced or co-produced some of the tracks. Overall, the musician fulfilled everything seriously and this high quality of the record is felt in every track of Sex Therapy: The Experience (Deluxe Edition). It is even hard to belive that in order to record the long-play Thicke needed only a year - taking in cosideration the fact that at the same time Robin produced other artists and even helped Leighton Meester to sing the song for her new solo attempt. The ultimate word would be that Thicke knows how to manage his time in the most effective and efficient way and learned how to fing hamony and golden middle in everything.
