New Sugababes album to be "darker" than their previous efforts
Jade Ewan revealed details about Sugababes' next studio effort. Singer claimed that this record would be "darker" than the band's previous releases. "It's a bit darker, tougher and quite edgy", said she.

Biography

The UK teenage trio Sugababes came into the musical industry in 1998. Initially it consisted of Siobhan Donaghy, Keisha Buchanan, and Mutya Buena. Mutya and Keisha were friends, interested in popular music. They met Donaghy at a party and invited her to join them. Girls did not intend to go in for music, but in 2000 they signed a contract with London label. Their studio work with producer Cameron McVey, known for his collaboration with All Saints, resulted in their debut album One Touch that saw the light in 2001. It featured sweet teen- pop tracks, written by all three girls together, including the main hit Overload. But sales were lower than it was expected, and London refused from further work with the band. In the fall of 2001 there were some rumours about Donaghy's leaving the group. The other two participants did not approve the fact that Siobhan left the band soon after the support tour. Nevertheless, the rumours had a firm grounding. Later Donaghy started a solo career singing alt- pop and by now recorded two albums: Revolution In Me (2003) and Ghosts (2007).
