The White Stripes
Biography
Before the formation of The White Stripes, Jack White, whose real name is John Gillis, played in such commands of Detroit as The Go, Goober And The Peas and Upholsterers. However, when he met Meg, he liked her drumming so much that he founded The White Stripes in 1997. The band recorded the self-titled album in 1999 for only two weeks and caught the attention of the public with the unusual sound and powerful energy. In 2000, The White Stripes strengthened their status of garage rock heroes with the De Stijl album, called so in honor of the Dutch architecture movement - they also noted that they used this style, creating their musical image. The duo is famous for being possessed by white, red and black colors that are overwhelming in Meg and Jack's scene clothing.
