Il Divo - Siempre review
  1. Year: 2006

A combination of charming appearance and exceptional voice

If we join pop and classical music, crystal-clear voice and charming appearance in a single whole, we can turn out the project, which will be able to win every heart. It was made by the group Il Divo. They could accomplish a practically impossible revolution in the music world. Il Divo achieved a success owing to their talent, faith in the best and ability to work hard. Formed after a two-year search, the quartet is comprised of American tenor David Miller, popular French singer Sebastien Izambard, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, and Spanish baritone Carlos Marin. After appearing, a successful in every respect, the album Ancora in 2005, international classical crossover quartet Il Divo released their next disc under the name of Siempre. Siempre (Always) is the third album where different pop hits and classical compositions found a unique shade of tenderness and sensuality in Il Divo’s style. Il Divo's new work occupied its own place in a contemporary world, showing that classical and pop music can and should be near each other.

Siempre – classical hits in a modern arrangement

Siempre is a perfect collection of enchanting and exciting music. Il Divo always sounds different, but the only one thing remains invariable – classical hits of the 20th century and nowadays, modern compositions acquire a contemporary sounding, singing and other understanding for the listeners. New arrangements of moonlit classics such as Nights in White Satin (sung in Italian), Without You (in Spanish), plus a new version of John Miles' evergreen Music (specially re-arranged by Miles himself) are sure to delight fans, as will the quartet's own compositions, which include the enchanting Amor Venme A Buscar and Una Noche. Singing their songs in English, Spanish and Italian, Il Divo not only add a mysteriousness to their music, but bring fresh notes in such classical compositions as Without You. Anyone willing to listen can see that they put their hearts into the music. The fusion of four exceptional voices, bringing the passion and virtuosity of their classical training to the interpretation of romantic and popular songs, has brought opera into the mainstream and thrilled the world in the process. Il Divo and their new soft, but at the same time very nimble album Siempre continue to assault the world well-known charts. Now they firmly established on the world stage, breaking all the rules and records in the process.

Il Divo have conquered the music world

Il Divo is a group of people who like to work hard. Everyone of these four talented and vocally gifted young handsome men was found by the most famous producers. But as everybody knows, talent is nothing without ability to work all days and all nights, learning through trials and errors. Constantly releasing new albums Il Divo consolidates a position of new stars in two trends at once – classical and pop music. Il Divo has conquered the music world. The popular quartet and their producers has taken a big step toward making such a genre, which many of the fans of the other modern trends consider as an acceptable for them, in something new and interesting for all of them. As a result, Il Divo gets a worldwide fame not only for their romantic songs, but because of the new style “popera” (the pop-arranging of opera and classical music), which they developed. Il Divo tackles many standards with an expert precision and pomp that aptly conveys their obvious talents. With the release of their third album, Siempre, Il Divo are poised to take their meteoric success to another level. Siempre is simply a collection of beautiful songs, sung by beautiful voices so that the world would have no choice, but to rip their very hearts out upon the first listen.
